(March 12, 2021) — Doru Mihaescu, RN, MBA, CISSP, CISA has joined Morning Pointe Senior Living as Vice President of Information Technology. He will oversee cybersecurity, technical support, and software development across all Morning Pointe campuses. Founded in 1996 by healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living is the developer, owner, and manager of 35 senior living and The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence communities in five southeastern states.
Previously employed at Southern Adventist University for more than twenty years, Mihaescu brings a wealth of knowledge to Morning Pointe in the healthcare and technology arena. He was the developer of a piece of medical software—among the first of its kind in the country—that addressed the security and integrity of patients’ health information.

Vital. “His background as a registered nurse, coupled with his technological expertise in computer science and business will help usher in a new era of excellence within our information technology department as we seek to provide the best care to our seniors.”
Mihaescu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Helderberg College in Somerset West, South Africa, as well as a Bachelor of Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale. Additionally, Doru worked previously as a registered nurse. When he’s not at work at Morning Pointe, Mihaescu enjoys spending time with his wife and three children doing art projects and bicycling.
