In the spirit of the holidays, a family member of one of the residents at Morning Pointe of Greeneville (TN) decided to put together Christmas baskets for all of the assisted living community’s residents, so that each of them would have something to open on Christmas morning. After much fundraising, she was able to purchase nearly $2000 worth of supplies, including large blankets, Greeneville, Tennessee T-shirts, shower supplies, candy, adult coloring books, personal games, snacks, nail polish, and more. Together, Morning Pointe associates and the family members of the donor, who wished to remain anonymous, worked to sort and pack each Christmas basket, and the third shift resident assistants played Santa Claus and placed the baskets outside each resident’s door on Christmas Eve.
“The joy and happiness that the residents experienced when they opened their baskets was overwhelming. It really made their Christmas,” said Amanda Buech, the Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Greeneville. “We are so blessed and grateful to have the support and generosity of members of the larger community.”
