Morning Pointe of Chattanooga (TN) residents Louise Hayes, Dee Sherrer, and Sarah Stanley proudly display the paintings they created during an art class at the assisted living community. “Although some of the residents were intimidated by the sight of a blank canvas, they were all assured that they did not need any artistic talents to make something beautiful,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Holly Holcomb. “In the end, they were amazed with what they were able to create. Making art can be incredibly therapeutic, and we try to give our residents frequent opportunities to participate in art therapy.”
