In honor of National Assisted Living Week and Morning Pointe of Brentwood (TN) resident Phyllis Graffam’s 100th trip around the sun, the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community hosted an art show displaying Graffam’s work. While living in Hawaii, Graffam studied painting under Honchu Hee, who was known for his paintings and architectural designs, and began producing her own landscapes and seascapes inspired by the lush Hawaiian scenery she saw every day. She would later go on to teach her own art classes through the Department of Parks and Recreation. “Phyllis is an example to all of us. She exudes creativity and passion, and she lives her life with thanksgiving and grace,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Regie Ragland. “We are honored to be able to showcase her work for the rest of the community to see.”
