Morning Pointe of Lexington (KY) residents Darlene Ross and Mary Lou Chambers marvel at the size of a modern day jet engine at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky at the Blue Grass Airport in Lexington. A group of residents from the personal care community recently visited the 20,000 square foot facility, which boasts real planes, models, and artifacts from throughout aviation history. “We had such a good time! I can’t believe this was our first visit to the museum,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Kesia Cox. “I wanted to use our monthly educational outing as an opportunity to engage some of our veteran residents and hoped that they would appreciate seeing where aviation and military history intersect. Our resident Bill Simpson, who is himself a veteran, really enjoyed the trip. He loved getting the chance to see many historical planes and artifacts.”
