Residents from Morning Pointe of Franklin (IN) and the Whiteland High School Lady Warriors volleyball team proudly show off the stuffed pumpkin crafts created by the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community’s residents. The young women of the volleyball team formed a particularly strong bond with the residents after volunteering at Morning Pointe one afternoon, and the residents wanted to thank the team for bringing them so much joy by surprising the girls during afterschool practice with the stuffed pumpkins they made for them. “When we walked in, they were overjoyed to see the residents. Hugs were flowing like crazy,” recalls Morning Pointe life enrichment director Mary Beth Piland. “Our friendship with the Lady Warriors is a true testament to the power of intergenerational connections.”
