Tuscaloosa, AL –April 6, 2015– Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa is partnering with Family Practice at The Falls. The two companies will work together as Caroline Day, M.D., a physician for over 25 years takes on the role of medical advisor to the assisted living and memory care community. “We are very excited about this new relationship with Dr. Day and her local family practice,” explains Geanie Livingston, executive director of Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa. “Dr. Day will help ensure we are providing quality care to our assisted living and Lantern memory care residents while serving as an educational resource to the community.”
Dr. Day is board certified in family medicine and graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in South Africa, in 1988. She gained extensive experience in pediatrics, urgent care, psychiatry and care of the elderly for a number of years. She also worked in the United Kingdom at various hospitals in and around London. Day completed the Masters in Family medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand while working in her own private practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. She and her family relocated to Tuscaloosa in 2002 to further her husband’s career and she took a sabbatical to look after their 3 young children.
In order to fulfill the requirements to practice medicine in the United States, she completed the USMLE board exams. In 2008 she started the 3-year residency program at the University of Alabama which she successfully completed in 2011. Day worked at American Family Care for 18 months before opening Family Practice at The Falls at the beginning of 2013. She is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Alabama and the American Academy of Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine.
“My passion is preventive and integrative medicine,” explains Day, “and my desire is that my patients lead as full and healthy lives as possible.” To this end she integrates traditional medicine with other modalities.
