Morning Pointe of Calhoun (GA) residents Nancy McDaniel and Sally White and volunteer Jaiden Lackey play a game of checkers together. A first grade student at Calhoun Primary School, Lackey decided that he wanted to become a regular volunteer at the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community after he visited with the school choir to perform for the residents. Now, he volunteers once a week, spending time with the residents by helping them with crafts, reading to them, playing board games with them, and chatting with them. “We are so thankful to Jaiden for selflessly dedicating his time to us,” says Morning Pointe Lantern program director Mary Braden. “The residents love spending time with young people!”
