A group of residents from Morning Pointe of Knoxville (TN) take a photo together to remember all the fun they had exploring the East Tennessee Historical Society and Museum. The assisted living community’s residents toured the (Hillbilly) History of Mountain Dew exhibit, the Voices of the Land exhibit, the Freedom Engine, and the East Tennessee Streetscape. They watched historical miniature movies, listen to music dating back to the 1800s, and even stop by the gift shop to pick up a souvenir. “We took our residents on this outing so they could learn more about the rich history of East Tennessee. We also loved the memories that these exhibits brought back for some of our residents who are longtime locals,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Pat Anderson. “We look forward to going back and visiting again once new exhibits open up!”
