This month, our Resident Spotlight shines brightly on Kenneth (Kenny) Burton. Kenny was born on June 16, 1932 in Burnwell, West Virginia to Morton and Alma Burton. As a child, he lived in Burnwell with his parents and five siblings: Billy, Robert, Morton Jr., Barbara and Diane. Growing up, Kenny’s interests revolved around the outdoors, including fishing and hunting. One of Kenny’s happiest memories was when he served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Japan and that’s where he met the love of his life, Sue. They were married for 42 wonderful years and had two beautiful children: a son and daughter, Keith and Diane. After Kenny retired from the army, he was employed for the C&O/CSX Railroad where he was the breakman for many years. When he was not busy working, he would pack up the family and enjoy a wonderful vacation at Myrtle Beach. Kenny has three favorite hobbies: working on cars, hunting, and fishing. To this day, he loves to spend a lot of time outside. You can find Kenny watching the birds and making sure that the bird feeders are always full here at Morning Pointe Lexington- East. He is a joy to be around and loves to put a smile on everyone’s faces. Kenny loves animals and enjoys taking care of Izzy, our piglet, that is often seen in The Lantern. Family, staff, and visitors enjoy pouring a hot cup of coffee and having a good laugh with this amazing gentleman.
