Morning Pointe of East Hamilton (TN) resident and former teacher Della Wilcutt grins broadly as she shows her fellow residents how to properly mix cake batter. Licensed practical nurse Kaitlyn Hawkins hosted a baking class for residents in the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community’s The Lantern memory care wing, allowing residents like Wilcutt to engage again with what was once a favorite hobby. “It was so exciting to see residents open up and smile while they were baking,” says Morning Pointe Lantern program director Robin Smith. “It was obvious that they were doing something they loved.”
