Morning Pointe of Lenoir residents, associates and friends came together June 10 to honor a city proclamation declaring the day “Bleeka Miller Day”– a day that is also the assisted living resident’s 103rd birthday.
Miller was greeted by local dignitaries, close friends and dearest family members to celebrate her special day.
Representatives with the Mayor’s Office of Lenoir City including Amber Scott, assistant city administrator, LaVonne Barbour, administrative assistant, were present to give the official proclamation — a motion in which everyone at Morning Pointe agreed.
As part of the Life Enrichment Program, the assisted living community gathers community members to make centenarians like Miller feel special on their very important day.
And while Miller may have felt like the red carpet was rolled out for her birthday, she says she’s “just a small-town girl.”
