The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Collegedale (TN) resident Roxie Brown celebrates her 95th birthday with some of her friends from Christ United Methodist’s “Let’s Sing from Memory” program. Participants surprised Brown with a cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to her. The program meets twice a month and is specially designed for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their friends and family. “Our memory care residents never miss a session, and Roxie’s birthday party is a great example of why,” says Lantern program director Michelle Gunther. “The ‘Let’s Sing from Memory’ group is such a welcoming, compassionate bunch.”
