Modern Woodmen of America financial representative Kay Goodwin, Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove (TN) resident Bob Schardt, and executive director Jennifer McFarland celebrate Schardt receiving Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Heroes award. Modern Woodmen recognized Schardt, along with four other residents at the assisted living community, for making his hometown a better place to live through his acts of service and by being an inspiration to others. In addition to presenting each award winner with a certificate, Modern Woodmen will be making four 100 dollar donations to non-profit organizations chosen by the winners. “This was a very special opportunity for the residents to be acknowledged and give back to their community. We’re really grateful to Modern Woodmen for recognizing them,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Naomi Schumacher. “After the event, the residents and their family members were even inspired to write cards to members of the community who had inspired them or been heroes to them.”
