POWELL, TN – July 2015 Members of The Powell Lions Club have nominated Morning Pointe of Powell resident Fred Pardue to serve as Grand Marshal for the Independence Day Parade beginning at 11 a.m. this Saturday at Clinton Highway.
Selected for his Veteran Status and honorable history of service, Pardue served as a tail gunner on a B-17 during WII, in which he flew operations over Europe and provided air support over the Battle of the Bulge.
Recognized for his accomplishments and bravery, Pardue said he is truly honored that he has been chosen to fulfill the role of Grand Marshal for such a meaningful event on such an important day to this country. Starting at Clinton Highway and marching to Brickyard Road, Pardue will begin the march down Emory Road at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2015. Those participating in the parade will meet in the KARM parking lot from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The parking lot will be closed after 10:30 a.m.
