The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Clinton (TN) resident assistant Sandy Payne and resident Tom Kearney make mimosa butter cookies together. Once a week, Payne hosts a baking club for the memory care community’s residents, where they work together to make a new, tasty treat. “Our baking activities give the residents a sense of purpose, taps into their past experiences of baking and being in the kitchen, and gives them time to socialize with other residents,” says Lantern program director Debra Gregory.
