BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Brentwood Hills Church of Christ Love Bears Ministry Group packed up sewing machines, irons, stuffing and supplies, and visited the residents at Morning Pointe of Brentwood.

But the residents wouldn’t be engaging in their usual activities that morning. Instead, the seniors and the church group would get to work, sewing and ironing to create plush, colorful “love bears” from start to finish.

Though made of batting and cloth, the bears are also filled with love and compassion, and then delivered to local hospitals, fire stations, women’s and children’s shelters in missions around the world.

As part of the Life Enrichment Program, the assisted living and memory care community partners with local churches and organizations to pay it forward and look for opportunities to be involved with the greater good.

“We are pleased that Brentwood Hills Church of Christ allowed us to be a part of th is ministry that touches so many children,” says Regie Ragland, life enrichment director at Morning Pointe. “It is a blessing for our residents.”
