Danville, KY – October 2015- Independent Healthcare Properties (IHP) and Morning Pointe Senior Living is set to break ground on a new campus in Danville, Kentucky marking the ninth community in the commonwealth.
The first phase of the $25 million senior campus in Central Kentucky will create 200 construction jobs and this time next year another 65 people will be employed in permanent healthcare positions.
Morning Pointe of Danville is located at 1375 Perryville Road at the corner of Cunningham Way near Millennium Park and Centre College. Soon, it will provide seniors in the greater-Danville area with senior living and Alzheimer’s memory care services. Anticipated completion is expected in the fall of 2016.
Situated on forty acres, the new senior living and Alzheimer’s memory care community will feature two craftsman style buildings with 104 spacious apartments. The landscaped campus will offer high-quality amenities including fine dining areas, life enrichment programs and professional health and wellness services. Innovative and therapeutic programs such as SimpleC Companion services, Cuddle Therapy and the Meaningful Day program have been developed by the Morning Pointe team and incorporated into daily activities to ensure the highest quality of care for residents.
“With the growing number of people living longer and needing more health services, we believe Morning Pointe can serve the Danville community and its seniors with more options and choices that enrich the quality of life,” said Greg A. Vital, president and CEO of IHP and Morning Pointe Senior Living.
This two-phase development project will feature 44 senior living/personal care apartments and an additional 16 apartments will be in The Lantern, a secure dedicated wing specially designed for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory loss. The second phase will offer 44 purposeful apartments in a freestanding Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence.
With a solid foundation of 16 years of service to seniors in Kentucky and eight senior living and Alzheimer’s Memory Care Communities already in operation, IHP and Morning Pointe are primed for further expansion as they continue to try and meet the growing medical needs of a growing population of seniors.
