Morning Pointe of Athens (TN) business office manager Shelby Wilson displays the certificate of appreciation presented to her by the McMinn Senior Activity Center during the organization’s annual volunteer appreciation luncheon in honor of her work with the center’s Meals on Wheels program. Every week, Wilson helps delivers hot meals to homebound seniors throughout McMinn County. In total, the McMinn Senior Activity Center estimates that its Meals on Wheels program serves roughly 11,500 meals a year to seniors in need. “This program provides much more than food. It provides homebound seniors with a wholesome meal, a safety check, and sometimes the only opportunity for face-to-face contact or conversation that day,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Diane Hutsell. “Meals on Wheels is such a deserving program supporting a very worthy cause, and we are incredibly proud of Shelby for her dedication to it.”
