Local personal care and Alzheimer’s memory care communities recognize deep connections between staff, residents during national observance
KENTUCKY — Morning Pointe Senior Living communities in Lexington, Louisville and Frankfort are joining tens of thousands of senior living communities across the country for the festivities. It’s Resident Appreciation Week through Saturday, September 16, and Morning Pointe is honoring this year’s theme, “Family is Forever.”
The “Family is Forever” theme was inspired by a quote from the famed poet Maya Angelou: “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”
Morning Pointe residents, associates, relatives and local partners embrace family every day of the year, but especially during this weeklong observance as part of the life enrichment and Meaningful Day™ programs.
“Family is at the heart of what makes Morning Pointe a warm and compassionate environment for seniors,” says Greg Vital, president and CEO of Morning Pointe. “From monthly family night events, to our informative support groups, this Resident Appreciation Week is a time to honor and recognize our family members and loved ones who are at the very center of the care we provide to our residents.”
The annual observance inspires senior living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinct aspect of long term care.
