Morning Pointe Cook Makes Her Mark With Exceptional Attitude, Food
Morning Pointe of Lexington (KY) would like to shine the spotlight on cook Melinda Jackson! Jackson is well-loved by the residents of the senior living community for her cornbread and soups, positive attitude, and interaction with the residents and associates. Hailing from Harrodsburg, Kentucky, she was taught at a young age to cook by her mother and grandmother.
“Melinda has a real passion for cooking; also, she loves taking care of the elderly. Both brings joy to her heart and she loves to see the residents faces light up when they take a bite of her food,” says Rena Fisher, the Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Lexington. “When Melinda approaches the residents’ with her warm smile and freshly baked cornbread, the residents are overjoyed; many of the residents say that Melinda’s cornbread reminds them of their childhood memories.”
According to Fisher, Jackson welcomes feedback on her cooking from the residents. She graciously receives every word and strives to incorporate the residents’ suggestions into her culinary creations.
