TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa is partnering with the greater community to honor those who served in the Armed Forces through two Veterans Day events.

In partnership with the Cub Scout Pack 85, the assisted living and memory care community will host its Flag Retirement Ceremony Friday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m. Morning Pointe invites the community to bring a flag in need of disposal.

On Saturday, November 11, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., the community is welcome to browse furniture and other wares during a Yard Sale. All proceeds will benefit Wounded Warriors Project. Furniture donations are welcome until Thursday, November 9.

“Our residents are so patriotic, proud of their service to their country, and grateful to the flag and what it stands for,” says Lynn Armour, life enrichment director at Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa.

“We love our community and want to give others an opportunity to participate in this meaningful ceremony, whether in person, or by sending their flags that need to be retired, donating to the yard sale, or by purchasing yard sale items,” says Sarah Pederson, community relations director at Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa.
