Hixson,TN, November 2013– Morning Pointe of Hixson Wins Big in National Chick-Fil-A Cow Costume Contest, taking home the title ‘Best Herd’- The national win meant an all-expense paid trip to Atlanta, Georgia to the Chick-Fil-A corporate headquarters. “We were treated like royalty,” said Liz Morton, resident of Morning Pointe of Hixson. “We all felt so special.”

Morning Pointe of Hixson life enrichment director Holly Holcolmb came up with the idea of the costumes for the residents. “We were really just having fun with the costume day and was planning on taking advantage of a free lunch at our local Chick-Fil-a,” said Holcolmb. “People at the restaurant just loved our costumes and praised the residents so much. My photos turned out great, so I decided to enter them into the big competition. Never did I think that we would win a top spot.”

The cow costumes consisted of a white t-shirt and white pants with multi-colored cow spots edged in sparkles. Each of the spots were pinned to the resident’s clothes. “It did take some time, but we had a blast,” said Holcomb.” “We loved every minute of it,” exclaimed Morton. The big win gained the residents a live interview with Jed Mescon on WRCB, Channel 3. Their story was also featured on WSMV.com out of Nashville, TN and hit just over 16,000 likes on Facebook.
