The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Russell (KY) resident Carmen Damron (center) gives a hug to her new friends Duranda and Desiree, two students from Ashland Community and Technical College who are studying to become state registered nurse aides. Under the supervision of Professor Lori Baier, ACTC nursing students visit the memory care community several times a month to provide assistance and learn more about the senior healthcare field. “This is the actually the same class I took right before I started as an RA at The Lantern two years ago,” says Lantern program director Jimmy Adams. “We are so thankful to be able to partner with ACTC and hope to work even closer with them in the future.”
