Tellico Village Kiwanis Club member Cheryl Grech, Morning Pointe of Lenoir City (TN) life enrichment director Camie Entrekin, residents Audrey Stier, Mary McLendon, and Evelyn Hill, and Tellico Village Kiwanis Club member and project leader Janice Morello proudly display the comfort dolls they are making to give to children in the hospital. Each month, the assisted living community’s residents receive comfort doll patterns and stuffing from the Kiwanis Club, which they can sew together as a group or independently. Once they are completed, the Kiwanis Club picks up the dolls and donates them to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville, where they are given to young patients to provide comfort during trying times. “Our residents love this service project because it allows them to use their skills to give back to those in need of love and support. They are so thankful to Janice and the rest of the Tellico Village Kiwanis Club for allowing them to be a part of it,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Camie Entrekin.
