Morning Pointe of Lenoir City (TN) resident Phyllis Detar and her longtime friend Barbara Moye celebrate nearly two decades of friendship at the assisted living community’s annual Friendship Luncheon. The idea for the luncheon was born after several residents commented that their reduced mobility prevented them from meeting with friends as often as they would like and has since become a Morning Pointe tradition. “We never want our residents to stop living their lives. We want them to continue doing the things that make them feel happy and whole, regardless of the challenges they might face,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Camie Entrekin. “Here at Morning Pointe, we strive to help our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives. If they can’t go out to meet their friends, then we will bring their friends to them!”
