Morning Pointe of Franklin (IN) residents Janet Rynerson, Donna King, Blanche Eilert, Roseann Hobert, Caroline Jones, and a group of young women from Girls Inc. of Johnson County proudly display some of the thank you cards they created for local veterans. These cards will be given to volunteers representing a nearby Honor Flight charity, which transports war veterans to Washington, D.C. free of charge, to give to the veterans on this year’s flights. “We are going to start making cards on a regular basis because the Honor Flight organization is always in need of them,” says Mary Beth Piland, the life enrichment director at the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community. “It’s a wonderfully rewarding activity that engages our residents and student volunteers while giving back to the men and women who bravely served their country.”
