The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Clinton (TN) visitor Josiah Daniels, resident Matt Dablemont, and visitor Levi Daniels show off the backpacks filled with school supplies that the siblings received as part of the memory care community’s school supply giveaway. As part of the event, local students and their families were treated to a meal with The Lantern’s residents before receiving backpacks filled with supplies pencils, paper, notebooks, binders, coloring pencils, and more. “The faces of our residents lit up as the children began to tell them about the upcoming school year,” says Lantern program director Sarah Smith. “The children were all very sweet and hugged our residents, insisting that I take their pictures. One of our residents, Dot Rutherford, is a former teacher, and she smiled the whole night as she passed out backpacks. We are grateful to everyone who donated supplies, and we are happy we could help our local schoolchildren! It was such a wonderful event!”
