Morning Pointe of Powell (TN) residents June Vance and Joanne Hoffmeister deliver gift bags to Brickey-McCloud Elementary school assistant principal Kathleen Roovers (center) in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. The assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community’s residents assembled and delivered over 50 gift bags to the elementary school’s teachers and staff, along with homemade cookies from the Morning Pointe kitchen. “The assistant principal, the teachers, and the rest of the staff were so appreciative of what the residents did for them, but we just wanted to show our appreciation for all of the hard work that teachers do!” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Taylor Collins with a laugh. “Many residents have either great-grandchildren who currently attend Brickey-McCloud or grandchildren who have attended in the past.”
