The memory care community’s residents spend the day picking apples at the former home of Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Roots, Alex Haley. “The residents loved the beautiful, scenic location, and all the excitement happenings around them. Many visitors offered help to our residents and helped them pick apples,” Smith says. “We were sure to invite these friendly guests out to our community to enjoy the apple fritters our cook, Connie Barns, has promised to make!”
