HIXSON, Tenn. — Morning Pointe of Hixson residents took a trip to Crabtree Farms to see where the assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community gets its fresh fruits and vegetables.

The residents enjoyed tastes of fresh honey straight from the honeycomb, and took tours around the farm to see the spectacle of locally grown food from soil to suppertime.

This summer, Morning Pointe Senior Living launched its Farm to Table dining services initiative, forming partnerships with local farms and community gardens to make mealtime memorable for seniors. Morning Pointe communities in the Tennessee Valley have partnered with Crabtree Farms to provide fresh, in-season produce to the senior campuses.

Morning Pointe of Hixson residents also enjoy their own community garden, sowing seeds and eagerly watching their herbs sprout and flowers bloom as part of the life enrichment and Meaningful Day™ programs.
