LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — Linda and Agnes, volunteers at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Lenoir City, are giving veterans the gift of warmth for Veterans Day.
The two women have been spending hours crafting handmade patriotic lap quilts to present to each veteran during a special recognition ceremony at the Alzheimer’s memory care community.
But this is just one of many ways the duo warms hearts, having previously donated 27 handmade quilts to Fellowship Baptist Church. Morning Pointe invites volunteers like Linda and Agnes to share their gifts and talents with the residents as part of the Meaningful Day™ program.
“We are so very thankful to have such wonderful, loving ladies spreading joy in our memory care community,” says Lisa Harvey, executive director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe. “Our volunteers truly make all the difference and will always have a special place in our hearts.”
