The participants of the Music Together Generations class at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford (TN) can’t wait to sing and play together! Music Together Generations is a mixed-age music class with the sweetest twist: the addition of senior participants. Once a week, people of all ages come together at the assisted living community to sing, dance, shake shakers, and swing scarves. “The residents look forward to classes each week!” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Holly Holcomb. “As the children’s music-learning is nurtured, families also foster new and important relationships with our residents, who we call ‘Grandfriends.’ The additional cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits for both children and residents make the Music Together Generations class a heartwarming win-win for everyone.”
