Residents at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Frankfort, went on a candy tour at Rebecca Ruth’s Candies in Frankfort.
As part of the Meaningful Day™ program, the memory care residents enjoy outings to local attractions that are rich with history and community pride.
On the “Inventors of Bourbon Candy” tour, the residents learned the history of the candy store’s two founders, Rebecca and Ruth, who founded the business in 1919.
The tour included an educational video that told the story of their time-honored candy-making techniques, and — of course — free candy samples at the end.
