Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa residents gave Lantern Program Director Alexis Stewart a good old-fashioned lesson in the kitchen. The assisted living residents taught Stewart how to prepare a deep-fried delicacy in the South — fried green tomatoes.

Martha Mills, resident, coated the tomatoes in the corn flour mixture, teaching Stewart the proper timing to turn them and take them out of the frying pan.
