Morning Pointe of Russell (KY) residents took in interactive historical and cultural experiences during their self-guided tour of the Kentucky Highlands Museum and Discovery Center in Ashland.
As part of the Life Enrichment Program, the senior living residents participate in local outings to explore and reminisce about the history and culture of their communities.
The museum aims to provide educational programs for people of all ages, preserve heritage and artifacts, and serve as a cultural tourism destination.
Many of the residents remembered artifacts displayed in the museum, such as a replica and pictures of the old Ashland Oil Building, as well as the wooden Ashland Post Office boxes used to receive mail generations ago.
