Morning Pointe of Richmond (KY) resident Leo Goss snuggles up with Lucy, a Yorkshire terrier and King Charles spaniel mix owned by resident Jean Harper during the personal care community’s bimonthly Pet Time, which encourages volunteers and resident family members to bring their well-behaved pets to interact with the residents. “Pet Time has been a great way to engage with our volunteers and family members, and it’s really rewarding to watch the residents bond with them over a shared love of animals,” says Morning Pointe life enrichment director Kathy West. “Plus, many of our residents take comfort in being able to spend time with pets, so it’s also been great for helping manage anxiety and stress.”
