ATHENS, Tenn. — The Athens community was feeling a bit hungry at the Morning Pointe of Athens Soup Cook-off. Guests were greeted by more than 14 varieties of savory soups with only one being named supreme.
Mayor Chuck Burris and Morning Pointe resident Catherine Melton judged the soups, casting their first place vote for the Loaded Potato Soup prepared by Judy Wright from the McMinn County Justice Center. Wright went home with a beautiful fruit cornucopia and a champion’s certificate.
Morning Pointe residents and associates stay involved with the greater community, partnering with local businesses and organizations to enjoy their favorite seasonal events as part of the life enrichment program.
