FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Morning Pointe of Franklin honored fathers everywhere with a special presentation by Jimmy Gentry, state-renowned football coach. A native of Franklin, Gentry’s high school coaching career spanned more than seven decades, earning him the title of Tennessee Coach of the Year in 1966. He is also a decorated war hero. For the past 75 years, he has run Gentry’s Farm, a successful pumpkin farm and children’s camp.
During his visit to the assisted living and memory care community, he shared his war stories and recollections of life during the Great Depression and World War II.
