FRANKFORT, KY — Jevonda Keith, professional violinist and owner of Stringjoy, brought her years of string music expertise to The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Frankfort.
Keith began playing violin at the age of five. The classically trained graduate of the Suzuki method enjoys sharing her talent and love for music with the residents at the memory care community.
She said her experience as a patient in the hospital, enduring long wait times for nursing staff is what inspired her to perform in various healthcare settings. Keith travels to long-term care facilities and hospice homes, and Morning Pointe, to bring the joy of music therapy to others.
“I believe music plays a key role in our lives,” Keith says. “It’s at the heart of everything we do, eliciting emotions and memories with just a few sweet chords. I love playing the violin. And I love sharing the gift of music with others.”
