The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Clinton Names Holly Smarr As Executive Director

(November 23, 2021) – Holly Smarr has been named Executive Director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Clinton. Smarr now oversees daily operations at the Alzheimer’s memory care campus on Charles G. Seivers Boulevard. Morning Pointe Senior Living, a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based senior healthcare services company, owns and manages 35 Morning Pointe assisted living, personal care and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states. Morning Pointe was founded in 1996 by Tennessee healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow.

“I am passionate about being a resource to families and caregivers who face challenges with their loved ones who struggle with Alzheimer’s and dementia,” said Smarr. “With proper, attentive and respectful care, we help residents retain their dignity and independence as they age.”

Ms. Smarr joins Morning Pointe with 12 years of experience in senior living, having been the Alzheimer’s programming director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Knoxville for over 2 years. During her time there, she became a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Smarr started in the healthcare industry as an Emergency Management student.

Smarr has several hobbies and interests that keep her busy outside of work, from amateur photography to reading astronomy. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family. Smarr and her husband have three children and a German Shepherd named Jango. They enjoy family time outside, often going on hiking adventures.
