ATHENS, Tenn. — The Disabled American Veterans and Auxiliary Monroe County Division VET 2 VET TN presented Christmas gift bags to veterans residing at Morning Pointe of Athens.
Each bag contained an East Tennessee Veterans hat, eagle blanket, puzzles and other goodies. The veterans group visited nearly 100 senior communities throughout Eastern Tennessee, bringing with them good will all year around.
But that wasn’t all that was to be given; the group even brought cookies to the associates for their commitment to serving the veterans in residence.
As part of the life enrichment program, Morning Pointe invites local organizations to connect with veterans at the assisted living community.
