Community experts share practical guidance at fundraising event supporting the Foundation’s mission
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 23, 2026) — Caregivers gained practical guidance for supporting loved ones living with dementia while helping advance the Morning Pointe Foundation’s mission during the 2026 Fall Moments of Grace Dementia Symposium, held Oct. 15 at The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Chattanooga.
The event brought together subject matter experts to address the questions and challenges families face when navigating dementia care at home. Topics included managing changes in behavior, understanding power of attorney and conservatorship, navigating Medicare open enrollment, maintaining caregiver health and well-being, exploring alternative community care opportunities and learning about new treatments and medications.
Among the participating experts were Paula Larkin, certified dementia trainer; Brandy Anderson, director of ABIDE Ministries; Dub Ellis, care manager with Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, PC; and Jenna Frost, ARNP. Their contributions provided attendees with information and perspectives on the medical, legal and community resources that can help families make informed care decisions.
The symposium also served as a fundraiser for the Morning Pointe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living. The Foundation supports scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing, therapy, social work and culinary arts through partnerships with area schools, as well as educational opportunities for caregivers.
“Providing current information and resources for families caring for loved ones with dementia at home is an important part of our mission at Chattanooga Lantern,” said Nena Mitchell, executive director of The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Chattanooga. “We are grateful to the experts and community partners who gave their time and knowledge to support caregivers and help make this event possible.”
Community organizations and businesses, including HomeWell Care Services, ABIDE Ministries and Houses with Holly, also contributed to the event.
By combining caregiver education with fundraising, Moments of Grace supports families facing the challenges of dementia while contributing to the Morning Pointe Foundation’s broader work in healthcare education and caregiver support.
Following the success of the fall symposium, The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Chattanooga looks forward to hosting its Spring Moments of Grace event, continuing to connect families throughout the greater Chattanooga area with information, resources and opportunities to support the Foundation’s mission.
