Community Walk to End Alzheimer’s Brings Hope and Unity in Calhoun, GA.

CALHOUN, Ga. (August 27, 2025) – Morning Pointe of Calhoun Assisted Living and Memory Care extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined in making this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Calhoun Recreation Center a meaningful success.

It was a day filled with hope, remembrance, and unity as residents, families, friends, and community partners came together to support an incredibly worthy cause.

A highlight of the event was the Promise Garden Ceremony, with flowers symbolizing the many reasons people walk:

  • 🟠 Orange – supporting the cause and the vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and dementia
  • 💛 Yellow – for those caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia
  • 💜 Purple – honoring loved ones lost to the disease
  • 🔵 Blue – for individuals currently living with Alzheimer’s or dementia

Morning Pointe recognizes and thanks its dedicated team members who helped make the event possible: Tristan Moses, Anita Hayes, Rebecca Williams, Leah Beamer, Bruce Harkins, Traci Clements, Norma Baragan, and Jackie Wilson.

The event was also supported by generous vendors and community partners, including Transitions Hospice Care of Rome, MARY KAY Cosmetics, Sweet Peas Delights, and the Alzheimer’s Association with Norma Baragan. A special thank-you goes to the Calhoun Recreation Department for graciously donating the facility.

“We are proud of our community’s heart and generosity,” said Leah Beamer, Community Relations Director at Morning Pointe of Calhoun. “Together, we are walking toward a brighter future and a world without Alzheimer’s.”

Morning Pointe of Calhoun looks forward to continuing this tradition and is already planning for next year’s walk.
