Morning Pointe Foundation Golf Tournament Brings Community Together to Invest in the Future of Senior Care

Sept. 14 fundraiser will support local students preparing for healthcare careers and caregivers serving older adults across the Tennessee Valley

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. (September 8, 2026) — In just one week, businesses, healthcare professionals and community members from across the Tennessee Valley will gather at Lookout Mountain Club for the Morning Pointe Foundation’s 11th Annual Golf Tournament — an event that turns a day on the course into an investment in the future of senior care.

Set for Monday, Sept. 14, the annual fundraiser supports scholarships for students preparing for careers in healthcare, as well as free educational programs for family and professional caregivers. For the people and businesses who participate, the impact reaches far beyond the tournament itself.

Last year’s event raised nearly $90,000, helping support students at local educational partners including the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Chattanooga State Community College, Southern Adventist University, Dalton State, Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology campuses in Athens and Chattanooga.

For Greg A. Vital, co-founder of Morning Pointe Senior Living and the Morning Pointe Foundation, that local impact is what makes the tournament especially important.

“Healthcare is one of the most important investments a community can make, because the people entering these professions will have an impact on countless lives,” Vital said. “This tournament gives businesses and individuals an opportunity to be part of that investment. The support raised through this event helps students pursue their education and helps the Foundation provide resources to caregivers and families. We’re proud to bring the community together around something that can make a lasting difference.”

Through its educational partnerships, the Morning Pointe Foundation provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in nursing, social work, therapy, culinary arts and other senior care-related professions. The Foundation also offers free caregiver education programs designed to give families and professional caregivers practical information and resources as they care for older adults.

“This is what makes the Foundation’s work so meaningful — the support we receive from our community can open a door for someone pursuing a career in healthcare,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “A scholarship can help a student take the next step toward becoming a nurse, therapist, social worker or another healthcare professional, while our caregiver education programs give families and professional caregivers the tools they need to provide better care. When people come together to support this tournament, they are helping us make both of those things possible.”

With the tournament just one week away, the Foundation is encouraging local businesses, organizations and individuals to take part and help continue that momentum.

The tournament will be held at Lookout Mountain Club, located at 1730 Wood Nymph Road on Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
