Therapy Dog Penny Brings Smiles to Morning Pointe Residents Through Community Partnership

BRENTWOOD, TN. (August 26, 2025) — Penny, a therapy dog with Nashville Therapy Pets, quickly became the star of the show during a recent “Dog Days of Summer” celebration at Morning Pointe of Brentwood.

The event was made possible through a special partnership with CrossWalk Church and Nashville Therapy Pets, whose shared mission of fellowship and joy brought residents together for devotion, sweet summer treats, and a round of musical bingo featuring sunny seasonal tunes.

For resident James “Lindy” Presson, the day was extra memorable as he bonded with Penny, her wagging tail and warm demeanor bringing out plenty of laughter and smiles.

“Penny has a way of lifting spirits the moment she walks into the room,” said Regie Ragland, Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Brentwood. “Thanks to our community partners, we’re able to create experiences like this that bring comfort, connection, and pure joy to our residents.”
