It was an extra-special Black Friday at Morning Pointe at Happy Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care in Walker County, Georgia, as its very first resident moved in.

The community, located at 2989 Happy Valley Road in Rossville, is now officially open, with new residents moving in.

Maryann Vaughan, one new resident, shared, “I love it! I like the food, and the staff are so nice.”

Morning Pointe at Happy Valley offers 58 assisted living apartments and 24 memory care apartments specially designed for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss.

Morning Pointe at Happy Valley will host its Grand Opening on Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 4-7 p.m. The holiday event will include a formal ribbon-cutting, tours, open house and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Ridgeland High School, one of the new community’s neighbors, will be heavily involved with the program, including a performance by the marching band and choir, as well as the JROTC. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will also make an appearance, and members of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as Walker County commissioners and the Rossville Mayor, will also be part of the program.

The senior community is part of an overall community redevelopment of the historic 300-acre Happy Valley Farms. It will be the 38th Morning Pointe Senior Living community and the company’s second campus in Georgia (with the other in Calhoun).

The Happy Valley farm and estate were established in 1935 by John L. Vital, Co-Founder and President of Morning Pointe Senior Living, purchased the farm from the Happy Valley Estate in 2020 for preservation and development. Morning Pointe at Happy Valley is located across the road from the barn.

Clinical services include 24/7 nursing care and personal care services, medication assistance and reminders, periodic check-ins, personal grooming assistance, assistance with transferring to a bed or chair, escorting to meals and events, incontinence management and more. On-site physical, occupational and speech therapy services are also be offered through The Weston Group in the therapy gym.

Amenities include an on-site beauty shop, a library with a fireplace, a billiards room, three courtyards and screened-in porches. Programming includes life enrichment such as arts and crafts, wellness offerings such as exercise classes, and intergenerational activities. Christmas activities are already in full swing.
