Now Open: A New Approach to Memory Care in Happy Valley

Rossville, GA— April 1, 2026—Now complete and welcoming residents, The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Happy Valley, has been thoughtfully designed to support safety, dignity, and meaningful daily life. The community is already bringing its approach to life through Morning Pointe Senior Living’s Meaningful Day™️ program, focusing on personalized programming rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. By investing time and attention in understanding each resident’s prior roles and careers, routines and interests, Morning Pointe associates provide individualized activities and programs that truly focus on quality of life.

That philosophy is reflected in the way the physical environment is designed and used each day. Open living room areas create inviting spaces for live entertainment, gatherings, and connection, while multiple craft areas offer opportunities for games, hands-on engagement, and creative expression. Each space plays a role in supporting daily routines and encouraging interaction.

“We are proud to officially welcome residents and families into a space that was truly designed with them in mind,” said Melissa Bartlett, Executive Director. “From the layout to the daily rhythms, everything here supports comfort, connection, and a sense of purpose.”

The community is now open and welcoming families to visit and experience it firsthand. An official grand opening celebration is in the works, with more details to come.

Located at 2937 Happy Valley Rd. in Rossville, it is part of a full-service senior living campus, with Morning Pointe at Happy Valley Assisted Living next door.

More Than Long-Term Care

In addition to long-term residency, Morning Pointe also offers short-term care for individuals recovering from a hospital stay, as well as respite care to support full-time caregivers who need time to rest, travel, or manage other responsibilities. These flexible options allow families to access specialized memory care when they need it most.

Lantern vs. Lamplight: Stage-Appropriate Care Under One Roof

The Happy Valley Lantern features two distinct program areas designed to provide stage-appropriate support. This two-level model allows residents to receive care that aligns with their current needs while remaining within one specialized memory care community — offering continuity and familiarity as needs evolve.

The Lamplight Program

  • Designed for residents in the early to moderate stages of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
  • Features a large, secure, and safe environment
  • Offers a more active setting for residents who enjoy engaging in lively activities and social interaction

The Lantern Program

  • Tailored for residents in the more advanced stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia
  • Focuses on individual interests, life experiences, and personal strengths
  • Provides a smaller, more intimate environment designed to be calming for residents who may be easily overstimulated

Morning Pointe associates are specially trained to support residents living with memory loss while also offering guidance and reassurance to family members navigating the journey. The Lantern works closely with medical partners and uses an interdisciplinary approach to address changing behaviors, evolving clinical needs, and overall well-being.
