Randall Farrell was the grand-prize winner of the 2022 Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent variety show in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
But his relationship with Morning Pointe Senior Living didn’t end with the event. He continues to volunteer at Morning Pointe.
Randall sings and plays guitar weekly on the memory care wing at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton in Ooltewah, Tennessee. As he plays a variety of hymns, ballads and bluegrass tunes, residents’ reactions vary from toe-tapping and clapping along… to sitting with focused attention… to just enjoying the performance as background music.
“You never know who knows what song,” Randall shared. “It’s probably as much of a blessing to me as to them. Whatever I can do, playing or singing, is a gift from God. It’s a service, and service is its own reward. You get the blessing back.”
Almost every time he performs for the residents, Randall plays “How Great Thou Art.”
And the residents don’t mind at all if he repeats songs from the previous week.
Randall is excited about opening for the 2023 Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent show in Chattanooga on Aug. 8 at the Silverdale Center Creekside Theater. He will perform his winning original song, “Mystery of Love.”
“Any ability is a God-given gift, and it’s given for a reason, and that is to share with others,” Randall shared.
Randall, thank you for continuing to share with the Morning Pointe Senior Living family!
