CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — May 1, 2026 — The heat was on in Chattanooga, and the Lookout Tennessee Valley Region delivered an unforgettable night of competition, creativity, and flavor.
Following an exciting Round 1, top culinary leaders from across the region went head-to-head in the final regional round of the 2026 Morning Pointe Senior Living Top Chef Challenge. With guests in attendance and the opportunity to sample each dish, the evening became a full experience that showcased the talent behind every meal served in Morning Pointe communities.
Taking first place was Brittany Brown, Food Service Director at Morning Pointe at Happy Valley Assisted Living, with her standout Pan-Seared Salmon Florentine. With the win, Brown now advances to the finals, set for May 19 at 5:00 p.m. at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga, where she will compete for the title of Morning Pointe Top Chef 2026.
Second place was awarded to Andrew Tredway, Food Service Director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, East Hamilton, for his Grilled Chicken with Lemon Risotto. Third place went to Jeff Kick, Food Service Director at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton Assisted Living, for his Chicken Parmesan.
“It was a night full of creativity, great flavors, and a lot of fun. Events like this highlight the talent our dining teams bring to residents every single day,” said Justin Leiter, Director of Dining Operations for Morning Pointe Senior Living.
Dishes were evaluated by a panel of respected culinary professionals, including Anne Braly, food writer for the Chattanooga Times Free Press; Jason Forker, Director of Culinary Arts at Chattanooga State Community College; and Marcus Garner, chef and co-owner of Wine Down Neighborhood Bistro.
More than a competition, the Top Chef Challenge reflects Morning Pointe Senior Living’s commitment to scratch cooking, resident-centered dining, and meaningful daily experiences. Each dish represents not only culinary skill but also the care and thought that go into creating meals residents look forward to every day.
The final competition on May 19 will bring together top regional winners from across the Southeast, all competing for the 2026 title in the city where Morning Pointe Senior Living was founded.
